1973 Opel GT

This car was produced in the final year of the first generation of Opel GT’s which spanned the years from 1968 to 1973. Production of the GT would take a 3 year hiatus until the introduction of the GT Roadster, in 2007. The early GT’s were mid-engined, rear wheel drive cars with a steel unibody. One unusual feature was the manually operated headlamps that would rotate as the vehicle was turning. Production of the GT was halted so the model could be redesigned to better compete with up and coming sports cars, like the Datsun 240Z.
