1973 Volvo 1800ES
The 1800 ES was an updated version of the Volvo 1800, introduced as a sports wagon in 1971. While the basic specs of the car remained essentially unchanged the 1800ES saw an extended roof line that increased luggage space. The rear window, or hatch, was a solid piece of glass. Production of this model was brought to a close in 1973 due to the increasing cost of meeting US safety regulations.
